These taconite seals feature three seals in one: an outboard shaft-riding, spring-loaded, split contact seal, a grease cavity with fitting to flush contaminants, and a felt inboard seal. The seal accommodates axial displacements of the shaft, as they may occur at non-locating bearing positions.
